POST 8: My Epic Plant: T-Plan

How growing a plant is quite nice

I never thought I’d be one to like planting and creating plants in all honesty. The process just seemed arduous and waiting for weeks to come to see a plant start to grow just never really appealed to me when compared to other things. With the amount of work piling on from school due to tests and whatnot. Yet, in my experience in raising a plant that I originally had no intention on raising, I ultimately found a past time that I think I’ll be making more use of.

How this started basically began with our parents bringing a plant back home, this plant wasn't really anything special, just some leaves and grass that just stayed in place. Having a few days living within our home, the plant would be forgotten by my family. It went unwatered and would overall be ignored by them. Me taking pity on the plant decided to water it, and as the days went by, I became more and more attached to it. I don’t understand why to be completely honest. I even gave it a name! T-Plan, not named after any musician of course.

Just taking care of a plant, I guess it made me just feel nice to have something depend on me. It honestly wasn't as taxing either, it was just simply making sure that T-Plan was watered, in a way I was surprised. At the same time, T-Plan just kind of became a part of my life here at my desk. I was glad that T-Plan was here chilling with me, and I would find some comfort in seeing them just there after class. While unable to speak or do anything for that matter, I’m just glad to have T-Plan here with me during these projects as it became a thing that I grew to somewhat care about.

Again, I’m unsure on why I feel somewhat attached to this plant, but I ultimately believe it has something to do with me taking care of it. Had I not done so, like my parents I think I would’ve simply ignored T-Plan, but instead, I’m happy that I payed attention to it. It’s become a little buddy I enjoy having next to me. While obviously not everyone is too keen on raising a plant, I still think its an experience worth having. Taking care of a plant is very easy after all, and honestly, its fun just seeing your plant grow and whatnot. Ultimately this is all I had planned for this post, just a little discussion regarding my plant friend here. T-Plan may be very silent, but ultimately, they are now a pivotal part of my desk, and I will be sure to take care of it with all I got.
